Tell us what has changed.
Note whether symptoms appear at the front, back, or sides of your knee. Tell your clinician about swelling, catching, giving way, previous surgery, and how stairs, squatting, or walking affect you.
Know what to ask.
Discuss what an evaluation involves, whether this office is the right place for your concern, and whether another provider should assess you first. Before agreeing to care, ask about its purpose, alternatives, costs, and how progress would be reviewed.
Bring your goals.
Think of one or two activities you want to feel more comfortable doing. Bring relevant medical records and a list of previous treatments so you can explain what you have already tried.
