Tell us what has changed.
Tell your clinician which shoulder is affected and whether reaching overhead, dressing, lifting, or sleeping on that side is uncomfortable. Note any injury and whether you have noticed a change in strength or movement.
Know what to ask.
Discuss what an evaluation involves, whether this office is the right place for your concern, and whether another provider should assess you first. Before agreeing to care, ask about its purpose, alternatives, costs, and how progress would be reviewed.
Bring your goals.
Think of one or two activities you want to feel more comfortable doing. Bring relevant medical records and a list of previous treatments so you can explain what you have already tried.
